Stroke clubs

Stroke Clubs are local groups for those affected by stroke, including stroke survivors and carers. They aim to provide a regular meeting place for people to come together and share their experiences as well as opportunities to take part in a programme of activities. (see stroke clubs)

Stroke Association Long-Term Support Groups

Derby Younger Strokes Contact Group

This group for people of working age affected by stroke meets monthly, either at The Revive Healthy Living Centre in Chaddesden, Derby, or at a social venue.

Leicester Working Age Stroke Group
You will be able to find details of meeting times and locations here, once they have been confirmed.

Affiliated Stroke Clubs 

Amber Valley Stroke Group (Ripley, Derbyshire)
Meets on alternate Friday afternoons from 2:30-4:30pm at St Joseph's Community Hall, Butterley Hill, Ripley.
The group organise a wide range of activities, outings and theatre trips.

Ashbourne and District Stroke Club
Meets every other Tuesday afternoon from 2-4pm in the function room at Ashbourne Bowls Club.
The club organise speakers, demonstrations and coach outings.

Ashby and District Stroke Support Group (Ashby de la Zouch)
Meet on alternate Tuesday afternoons from 2-4pm at Brown Court, Atkinson Road.
This friendly club arrange a variety of activities.

Belper Stroke Club

Meets every other Tuesday afternoon from 2-4pm at Belper Leisure Centre, John 0'Gaunts Way, Belper.
Contact us for details of how you can join us to take part in a wide range of activities, including day trips.

Broughton Astley and District Stroke Club
Meets on Mondays from 10:30am-2:30pm at Arkwright House, Orchard Road, Broughton Astley.
Contact us for details of how to join us and take part in a variety of activities.

Burton Joyce Stroke Club
Meets every Wednesday at Burton Joyce United Reformed Church Hall, Lambley Lane, Burton Joyce.
The club provides support for stroke survivors living in Burton Joyce and the immediate area. Meetings include table games, a quiz, chair based exercise and refreshments.

Castle Donington and District Stroke Club
Meets every Monday from 10am-2pm at St Edward's Hall, St Anne's Gate, Castle Donington.
The club provides social activities, information, talks and outings. Refreshments and transport are available.

Charnwood Stroke Club (Loughborough)
The Charnwood Stroke Club meets each week on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Members attend on only one of these two days.
Meetings are held from 9:30am-2pm at St. Peters Community Centre logbook and include speakers, outings and games.

Coalville Stroke Club
Meets on alternate Tuesdays from 10am-12pm at The Marlene Reid Centre, 88 Belvoir Road, Coalville.
Members enjoy games, seated exercise, speakers and outings. Some transport is also provided.

Derby Stroke Club 1
Meets every other Friday afternoon from 2-4pm at Bramblebrook Community Centre, Stockbrook Street, Derby.
The club offers a programme of talks, entertainment, social afternoons, trips out and theatre visits. Transport is also provided.

Derby Stroke Club 2
Meets on alternate Wednesday afternoons from 2-4pm at The West End Community Centre, Mackworth Road, Derby.
The club provides support for stroke survivors and their carers in a sociable environment.
Come and join us for a drink and a chat, and to take part in a wide range of activities including trips out.

D.R.I Friends of The Stroke Unit
Meets monthly at 11.15am at The Engineers Club, Osmaston Road, Derby.
The club offers informal meetings and outings

Desborough and Rothwell Stroke Club
Meets on the first Wednesday of each month, from 7-9pm at Beech Close community room, Lower Street, Desborough.
Join us for social activities including outings, talks and games.

Different Strokes Stroke Club (Swadlincote)
Meets once a month on Friday mornings from 10:30am-12pm at Granville Court, Hall Farm Road, Swadlincote.
Join us for social meetings and outings.

Finedon Nene Valley Stroke Club
Meets on the first Wednesday of each month from 2-4pm at Finedon Community Centre, Wellingborough Road, Finedon.
Join our friendly group for social activities including speakers, coffee mornings and outings.

Grantham Stroke Club
The club meets on alternate Thursdays from 10am-2:30pm at The Church of The Ascension Hall, Edinburgh Road, Grantham.
Stroke survivors, friends, family and carers are welcome to enjoy speakers, social meetings and outings.

Hinckley Stroke Club
Meets on Tuesdays from 10am-1:30pm at The Westfield Community Centre, Rosemary Way. Hinckley.
The members enjoy social meetings and games.

Ibstock Stroke Club
Meets weekly on Wednesdays at Ibstock Community College, Central Avenue, Ibstock from 2-4pm.
This is a small but friendly club who enjoy social meetings, speakers and outings.

Ilkeston Stroke Club
Meets on alternate Wednesday afternoons from 2-4:15pm at The Flamsteed Centre, Albert Street, Ilkeston.
Contact us for details of how to join and enjoy our social meetings with quizzes, bingo, and refreshments. We also organise an annual raffle, Christmas party and outings. 

Leicester Stroke Club
Meets three times a week on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 10am-2pm for different groups of members. Meetings take place in The Community Centre, Wigston Road, Oadby and The Aapka Centre, Pool Road, Leicester.
The club provide information and organise social meetings and lunch outings.

Lincoln and District Stroke Club
Meets on the first Monday of each month from 7-9pm at The Ancaster Day Centre, Boundary Street, Lincoln.
Come and enjoy our social evenings with free entertainment and refreshments.

Mansfield Stroke Club
Meets at The Stanhope Centre, Rock Valley, Mansfield, on the afternoon of the fourth Monday of each month.
Activities include social meetings, bingo and days out.

Market Harborough and District Stroke Club
Meets every Thursday from 9:30am-1:30pm at The Baptist Church, Manor Walk, Coventry Road, Market Harborough.
Join us and take part in a wide range of activities including speakers, games and outings.

Melton Stroke Club

Meets fortnightly on Thursday afternoons from 12-3pm at Melton Mowbray Working Men's Club.
The club covers the Melton Borough and meetings include bingo, quizzes and raffles. Monthly day trips are also arranged from April-October.

Northampton Stroke Club
Meets on the last Tuesday of each month from 2:30-4:30pm. 
Activities include speakers, quizzes and slide shows.

Nottingham Stroke Club

Meets every Thursday from 10:30am-2pm at St Andrews with Castle Gate URC Church Hall, Chaucer Street, Nottingham.
Meetings include table games, tea, coffee and a sandwich lunch. The club also organise a weekly raffle, trips out and occasional holidays.

Parklands Stroke Club (Long Eaton)
The club meets every other Friday from 2-4pm at The Petersham Hall, Grasmere Road, Long Eaton.
Join this friendly group for social meetings, outings, games and quizzes.

Rutland Stroke Club
Meets fortnightly on Thursdays at The Rutland Volunteer Centre, Barleythorpe Road, Oakham.
Members enjoy speakers, outings and an annual holiday.

Shephed Stroke Club
Meets on Thursdays from 10:30am-2pm at the Shepshed Community Centre, Charnwood Road, Shepshed. This club offers social meetings, craft sessions, days out and speakers. Care assistants help make sure that everyone gets a break.

Sherwood Stroke Club
Meets every other Friday from 10:30am-2pm at The United Reform Church Hall, Edwards Lane, Sherwood, Nottingham.
Join us for social meetings, speakers, entertainers and outings. Refreshments are provided.

Spondon and District Stroke Club
Meets every other Thursday afternoon from 1:30-3:30pm at Spondon Village Hall.
Join our small friendly club for social meetings, outings, our Christmas party and visits to other stroke clubs.

Stroke Support Group (Nottingham)
Meets once a month on Thursday evenings from 7-9pm in Sherwood Hall, Nottingham City Hospital, Hucknall Road Nottingham.
Come and join us for a cup of tea and a chat, and to take part in a wide range of activities including trips out.

Wellingborough Stroke Club
Meets on the third Tuesday of the month from 7:30-9:30pm in the Residential Lounge, Box Gardens, off George Street, Wellingborough.
Club meetings include guest speakers, plus refreshments, biscuits and a chat.

Worksop and District Stroke Club
Meets on the first and third Thursday of each month from 7-9pm at The Crossing, Main Street, Worksop.
Come along and join our friendly group for talks, games, quizzes, shows, outings and information.
