Stroke clubs.

Here you will find an ever growing list of artists and crafters, associations, directories, societies, guilds art and craft  supplies that can help you start up and develop your particular passsion.
 
Also open to indevidual artists and crafters who are invited to submit details of their business allowing them a shop window to advertise their products and wares.

The Lark Stroke Club
The club meets on the first Thursday of the month from 7-9pm at Hilltop House, Heldaw Road, Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk, and also on the third Monday of each month from 2-4pm at West Road Church, West Road, Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk.

Talk and Stroke Group
The group meets on Thursdays from 10am-12pm at Hillington Square Community Centre, Kings Lynn, Norfolk.

Time and Talents Stroke Club (London Borough of Southwark)
Meets during term-time on Wednesdays from 1-3pm at Time and Talents, The Old Mortuary, St Marychurch St, Rotherhithe.
The club welcome new members and we have just celebrated our fifth birthday. Around 20 of us meet on a weekly basis for a range of activities including talks, entertainment, outings and sharing information.

The Hope Club (Spelthorne)
Meets each Tuesday (during school term-time) between 10am-12pm at Shepperton pre-school, off Glebeland Gardens.
Join the group for refreshments, a game of scrabble, a visit to our allotment, or just for a chat.

The Link Stroke Club (Orpington)
Meets on the first and third Monday of every month, excluding Bank Holidays, between 11am-3pm.
Join us for refreshments, craft work, a painting group, remedial exercises, musical entertainment, occasional speakers and various outings, including an annual seaside trip in the summer.

Tavistock Stroke Group
Meets: the first Thursday of each month from 10am-12pm at the Anchorage.
We organise guest speakers and entertainment, and enjoy trips out, particularly over Christmas.

Teignmouth and Dawlish Stroke Club
Meets: the first and third Monday of each month 2-4:30pm at the Alice Cross Centre, St James Precinct.
The club provides transport by minibus and has a recreational therapist. They also enjoy a social afternoon.

Torridgeside Stroke Club - Bideford
Meets: Wednesdays 2-4pm in the Community Room, Ethelwynne Brown Close.
We start our afternoon with games and then have visiting speakers and entertainment. We also have a number of trips out which often include visits to the theatre in Barnstaple. The club celebrated its 21st birthday on 2 May 2007.  

Taunton - Clovermarle Stroke Club
Meets on Tuesdays from 10am-3pm in the Albemarle Assembly Rooms.
We enjoy a variety of activities and entertainment, and a speech therapist recently joined us.  

Tewkesbury Stroke Club
Meets on the second Wednesday of the month from 10am-12pm at The Day Centre, Staton Road.
We are a small group who enjoy socialising. We also have speakers or a quiz, plus the occasional trip out, usually for a meal.

Thornbury and District Stroke Club
Meets on alternate Thursdays in the Jubilee Hall, Alveston. We are a sociable group and celebrated our 26th birthday in July. We have weekly swimming sessions and a small art group. From September to April we also have an indoor Bowls group.

Trowbridge and District Stroke Club
Meets on Fridays from 1:30-4pm at the Social Centre, The Halve, Trowbridge.

Trafford Chest Heart and Stroke Group
Meeting time: Second Thursday 10am-2pm
Activities: Games, lunches, raffles, art workshop, chair based exercises, opportunity to join organised trips and holidays.

The Stroke Association Redditch Stroke Support Group
Funded by Worcestershire Intergrated Network Neighbourhood (WINN).
Held fortnightly on Wednesdays from 10:30am-1pm at Churchill Community Centre, Loxley Close. Stroke survivors and their carers are welcome to attend this friendly group. The Stroke Association Evesham Stroke Support Group
Funded by WINN.
Held on the first and third Tuesday of every month from 10am-12pm at the Evesham Red Cross Centre, Briar Close. Activities include music, exercise, socialising and speakers plus support for stroke survivors and their families and carers. Meets every Friday at 11am at The Torch Centre, Corbridge Road, Hexham, Northumberland.

 

DISABILITY SPORTS IN WALES

Disability sports wales

The Disability Sport Wales National Community Development Programme is a joint initiative between the Sports Council for Wales, the Federation of Disability Sport Wales and the 22 local authorities across Wales. The scheme is aimed at developing quality community based sporting and recreational opportunities for disabled people throughout Wales.

This club has a very large membership and has several training sessions throughout the week including daytimes and weekends.

This is a Tenpin Bowling Club for people with sight problems and their family and friends

Three Counties Inclusive Archers

The club meet on Wednesdays as part of the Carmarthenshire Disabled Sports and Activities Club at St Clears Leisure Centre.

Mainstream inclusive rugby club

The club offers inclusive training for people with a physical disability.

Table Tennis club for people with disabilities

Meets Pontypool Active Living Centre Tuesday evenings between 8pm & 9pm.

The WAY Foundation
A self-help support group run entirely by volunteers for men and women widowed aged 50 and under. All members (approx 1200 nationally) have been widowed themselves and we aim to offer support, help and understanding to those finding themselves in the unfortunate position of loosing a partner at a young age.
