2nd CHANCE  offers practical advice and support on stroke issues offering support as well as info on Suitable sporting recreational and creative craft ideas, giving you contact details & useful tips on how to get involved. Helps you create your own tailor made rehab programme.

Stroke clubs.

Stroke Clubs are local groups for those affected by stroke, including stroke survivors and carers. They aim to provide a regular meeting place for people to come together and share their experiences as well as opportunities to take part in a programme of activities.
 
However we cannot offer any guarantees over wether or not a particular group is suitable for younger stroke survivors. Please contact your local organiser. Alternatively you may wish to start up your own group. 2nd chance can help you do this and has a affiliation programme for groups suitable for younger stroke survivors.

Llandudno Stroke Club         

Meet on Wednesday evenings at The Trinity Centre in Llandudno.Contact the Stroke Helpline on 0845 3033 100to find out more.

Loughton Stroke Club
The group meets every second and fourth Tuesday of each month, from 2-4pm. Members enjoy social activities, quizzes and outings.

Leicester Working Age Stroke Group
You will be able to find details of meeting times and locations here, once they have been confirmed.

Leicester Stroke Club
Meets three times a week on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 10am-2pm for different groups of members. Meetings take place in The Community Centre, Wigston Road, Oadby and The Aapka Centre, Pool Road, Leicester.
The club provide information and organise social meetings and lunch outings.

Lincoln and District Stroke Club
Meets on the first Monday of each month from 7-9pm at The Ancaster Day Centre, Boundary Street, Lincoln.
Come and enjoy our social evenings with free entertainment and refreshments.

 

Lewisham. The Stroke Association Lewisham Stroke Club (London Borough of Lewisham)  
This Stroke Association club meets every second Wednesday of the month from 10am-12pm at Leeds Courts, Orford Road, Bellingham SE6.
Anyone who has had a stroke and would like to come along is welcome to join us.

Leytonstone, The Connaught Stroke Club at Whipps Cross Hospital (Leytonstone)
We meet every other Tuesday in the Connaught Day Hospital between 7-9pm. Come and join people who understand and have a great time. The group also arranges annual holidays and a few day trips.

Liskeard and District Stroke Club - Stepping Stones
Meets: alternate Tuesdays 2-4pm at the Coronation Centre.
We enjoy doing many crafts and we also invite guest speakers.

Lydney - Forest of Dean Stroke Club
Meets fortnightly on Mondays at the Springwater Centre in Lydney.

 

Lets Go Club
Venue: The Stadium, Widnes, Cheshire WA8 7DZ
Meeting time: second Wednesday (monthly) 8-10pm
Activities: Social events, outings, holidays and a swimming group.

Lancaster District Stroke Club
Venue: Luneside Centre, Pinfold Lane, Lancaster LA1 2BJ
Meeting time: Mondays (weekly) 7-9pm
Activities: Guest speakers and games and arranged outings including theatre groups and meals.

Liverpool Stroke Group
Venue: Liverpool Supporters Club, Lower Breck Road, Liverpool L6 4BX
Meeting time: Last Wednesday (monthly) 7:30-9:30pm.
Activities: Games, outings, talks.

Lichfield Stroke Club
Meets on Wednesdays from 2-4:30pm at The Martin Heath Hall.
Activities include games, outings and raffles.

 

DISABILITY SPORTS IN WALES

Disability sports wales

The Disability Sport Wales National Community Development Programme is a joint initiative between the Sports Council for Wales, the Federation of Disability Sport Wales and the 22 local authorities across Wales. The scheme is aimed at developing quality community based sporting and recreational opportunities for disabled people throughout Wales.

Learn to Swim - Wrexham Waterworld

Swimming lessons for children and young people with a disability.

little Mill Sports Association

Currently inclusive sessions with non-disabled participants: Pan-disability.

Llandrindod Wells Cricket Club

Llandrindod Wells Disability Cricket club is a pan disability club that meets on Thursdays at Llandrindod Wells Sports Centre 6pm - 7pm.

Llandudno Multi Disabled FC are a football club for over 16's and seniors with learning disabilties.

This is a club for visually impaired adults who meet at the following times: Selwyn Samuel Indoor Bowls Centre, Tuesdays, 10am (Winter) Parc Y Dre, Llanelli, Tuesdays, 10am (Summer)

Llanelli Warriors

This established club caters for males who have various learning difficulties over the age of 18.

 

Llangefni Lions Football Club

Llangefni Lions Football Club, Sessions on Monday 5pm – 6pm at Plas Arthur Leisure Centre, Llangefni
