2nd CHANCE  offers practical advice and support on stroke issues offering support as well as info on Suitable sporting recreational and creative craft ideas, giving you contact details & useful tips on how to get involved. Helps you create your own tailor made rehab programme.

Stroke clubs.

Stroke Clubs are local groups for those affected by stroke, including stroke survivors and carers. They aim to provide a regular meeting place for people to come together and share their experiences as well as opportunities to take part in a programme of activities.
 
However we cannot offer any guarantees over wether or not a particular group is suitable for younger stroke survivors. Please contact your local organiser. Alternatively you may wish to start up your own group. 2nd chance can help you do this and has a affiliation programme for groups suitable for younger stroke survivors.

Epping Stroke Club
The club meets on the second Tuesday of the month from 2-4pm at the United Reformed Church, Lindsey Street, Epping, Essex. Members enjoy games, quizzes and social interaction.

Ely and District Stroke Club
The club meets on the second Wednesday of the month from 7-9pm at Bedford House, 28 St Mary's Street, Littleport, Ely, Cambridgeshire.

Esher and District Stroke Club (Surrey)
Meets every Thursday from 9:30am-12pm at Arbrooke Hall, Claygate, Surrey.

Ealing Stroke Club (London Borough of Ealing)
Meets Mondays 10:30am-12:30pm at St John's Church Hall, Mattock Lane, West Ealing, W13 9LA
The club put on quizzes and word games, and go on occasional outings and lunches. This small and friendly social group provides an opportunity for people who have had a stroke to have a chat and a bit of fun.

Exeter and District Stroke Club
Meets: every other Tuesday 7:30-9pm in the Community Room, Vranch House School, Pinhoe Road.
A social evening with the occasional guest speaker. We enjoy trips out particularly in the summer months and try to arrange a holiday for our members each year.

Exmouth and District Stroke Club
Meets: the first and third Tuesdays of each month 2:15-4:15pm.
The club organises guest speakers and entertainment. Trips out are organised throughout the year.

 

East End Health Out & About Stroke Club

Meet every Monday from 11:30am-4pm, at 28 Hawthorn House, Heaton Road, Byker, Newcastle-upon-Tyne.

 

DISABILITY SPORTS IN WALES

Disability sports wales

The Disability Sport Wales National Community Development Programme is a joint initiative between the Sports Council for Wales, the Federation of Disability Sport Wales and the 22 local authorities across Wales. The scheme is aimed at developing quality community based sporting and recreational opportunities for disabled people throughout Wales.
